The Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (Y.E.S.S.) is the Government of Canada's commitment to help young people, particularly those facing barriers to employment, get the information and gain the skills, work experience and abilities they need to make a successful transition into the labour market.

The Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (Y.E.S.S.) program assists all individuals between the ages of 15 and 30 gain the skills and work experience to navigate the labour market effectively. Therefore, it is TRICORPs goal to provide the necessary supports during this 13-week program for our youth to successfully transition into sustainable employment.

Over a 6-week period, YESS will provide a broad understanding of the necessary skills to encourage professional and personal success.

This is followed by 7-weeks of quality work experience while working alongside a Job Coach to help navigate the steps towards their chosen employment interests.

The essential skills, combined with Soft Skills, learned in the YESS program are the passport for what is needed for work, learning and life. It is those skills that will provide the foundation for learning all other skills which are used in virtually all occupations at various levels. They are the skills that transfer from school to work, form job to job, and to help with further education or training.
