This exciting journey of becoming a licensed Optician I have been on for the past three years has been a phenomenal experience for both my career and everyday life. I started my journey as aVision center associate not really knowing anything about the optical world. As my first year progressed, I became more and more interested in what the industry did and how Opticians helped people with their vision needs. My boss encouraged me to take the certification courses to become an Optician and I found NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute and Technology) had an online program where you learn the skills and information needed to become an Optician while being employed as a Student Optician where I got to apply all I was learning in a real-world situation. I have passed my glasses certification and have taken my NACOR (National Allianceof Canadian Opticians) exam this past weekend and am now waiting to see if I get my license to practice optician across Canada. I then plan on taking the Contacts licensing courses to become a dule licensed Optician in Canada.

TRICORP has given me the amazing opportunity in the ability to pursue this wonderful career I love so much. With the funding they have provided me in tuition costs and licensing fees has relived the stress and burden of worrying where I was going to find my next semesters costs or if I was going to have to stretch out my studies by years and allow me to completely focus on my studies and leaning everything, I need to become a successful member of the medical community.

My deepest thanks to this organization and all the wonderful help they provide to the community. The number of professionals they are enabling to become successful in their chosen fields, will forever have a positive effect on our communities.
