Frank Parnell

Frank Parnell

Chief Executive Officer

Frank Parnell is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Tricorp. He has served in this position since Tricorp’s inception in 1989. As the senior executive of Tricorp, the CEO manages the entire corporate entity, making decisions which determine its identity, systems, internal organization and operations. The CEO, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, establishes the direction of the organization, sets priorities and determines how its resources are allocated. The function of the CEO is to manage the business activities of Tricorp as a competitive financial enterprise by directing the human and financial resources of the Corporation to achieve its long term goals and objectives.

Mr. Parnell has over 25 years of executive management and economic development experience in Aboriginal communities in Northern British Columbia. Frank has served as the President of the North Coast Tribal Council for a number of years. Frank also served as the Chairman of the Board for Gwaii Trust Society, a $38 million endowment fund established for the benefit of residents of Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands. Mr. Parnell has served as a Board member on many organizations over the years, such as: the Council of the Haida Nation, Prince Rupert Economic Development, Native Economic Development Advisory Board, Science Council of BC, Prince Rupert Friendship House Society, National Aboriginal Capital Corporation Association and Canadian Heritage Task Force. Frank currently serves on the All Native Tournament Committee, BC Capacity Initiative Council, Northern Native Broadcasting, and North Coast Economic Development Corporation. Mr. Parnell also heads sub-committees appointed jointly by the First Nations Summit and the Assembly of First Nations to research and recommend a new governance structure for the $50 million First Citizen’s Fund of British Columbia. Frank has most recently been appointed as Treasurer and Board member on the National Aboriginal Capital Corporation Association (NACCA). Frank is a Haida from the community of Old Massett.

Peter Lantin

Chief Operating Officer

Peter Lantin is of Haida ancestry and is 33 years old from the community of Old Massett located in Haida Gwaii, BC.  He is engaged to his financée Harmony and has two beautiful daughters, Taylor age 8 and Brooklyn age 6.

 Peter has been the Chief Operating Officer for Tricorp since September 2005.  As the COO, Peter is tasked with managing the day-to-day operations of Tricorp.  The organization is mainly a developmental lender, focusing on Aboriginal entrepreneurship on reserve lands.  Peter's main focus is on increasing the existing capital base for Tricorp and to look at the diversification of Tricorp's investments throughout the Northwest service area.

In addition to being the COO at Tricorp, Peter is also the President of the Aboriginal Business Services Network (ABSN).  ABSN is a provincial group that focuses on providing information and resources to aboriginal service providers throughout the province. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Industry Council of Aboriginal Business (ICAB) that works to bring together Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal business leaders who share a common vision of partnering for the purpose of realizing economic opportunities.

George Emes

External Delivery Officer

George Emes comes from a longtime Prince Rupert fishing family.  He was raised in the Northwest and resides in Prince Rupert with spouse Kimberly and children Hailey and Liam.  He is also in the process of confirming his Metis status with the Government of Canada.

George graduated from PRSS in 1983, received his Business Administration diploma from NWCC in 1993, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management from Royal Roads University in 2003.  While at Royal Roads he patented an environmentally friendly water vending machine which is in the commercialization stage.

George joined the Tricorp team in March 2007.  Previous to Tricorp, he served as a Small Business Counselor to the Self Employment Benefits Program with the Hecate Strait Employment Development Society.  He enjoyed his work and the variety of small businesses and clients he had the opportunity to work with.

As the External Delivery Officer to Aboriginal Business Canada for Tricorp, George looks forward to serving all First Nations in the North to continue to generate and build on prosperity and self-reliance at the individual and commnuity level.

 

                      Jim Dopson

Business Analyst

In August 2003, Jim joined Tricorp as the Aboriginal Business Canada External Delivery Officer (XDO).   In March 2007, Jim became a part of Tricorp's lending team as a Business Analyst. As Tricorp's Business Analyst, Mr. Dopson works with clients who have  completed applications, a business plan as well as all necessary supporting documents.  The business plan is analyzed using the Venture Intelligence Quotient.  The program has been specifically developed for Tricorp and its business lending.  This assessment provides for transparency of the Tricorp approval process and mechanisms.

Mr. Jim Dopson is Tsimshian from the Kitselas First Nation. You may recognize Jim from his years of managing Northern Native Fishing Corporation. More recently, he was working with Fisheries and Oceans Canada as Human Resources Advisor.

Jim has a diverse background in private and public sector management. Along with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Jim has over 8 years of experience with federal public service and in the private sector, 11 years experience.


 

Mamie Lawson

Business Support Officer

Business Support Officer, Mamie Lawson, has worked with Tricorp since May 1993.  Mamie began at Tricorp as a Bookkeeper and in 1998 she became the Finanancial Adminstrator, before moving into the Business Support Officer position in 2010.

As the Business Support Officer, Mamie provides business development services such as Precare and Aftercare services. Mamie is the first contact that future entrepreneurs have with the organization (Pre-care). Mamie assists clients by working with them in getting their applications to the ready stage for the Business Analyst(s) to assess.

                          

Jacquie Ridley

Accounts Administrator

Jacquie Ridley joined the Tricorp team in January 2000. She began as the Reception/Loan Administrator and was responsible for day to day front line duties, preparation of the corporation's loan security documentation and registration of the security agreements.

In 2003, Jacquie became part of the finance team and her additional responsibilities now include managing the day to day operational accounting for Tricorp and Nesika. Her other duties include maintenance of the computer network, computers and updating this website. She continues to work at finding new ways to improve and streamline the processes in her position and seeks out training that will help her accomplish those goals. 

A new role that she has taken on is working closely with management on Board matters. She is responsible for setting up meetings, ensuring the Board receives the necessary information in preparation for conference calls and meetings.
